Cops for Kids is a volunteer program designed to improve the relationship between police officers and the youth of the community. Through the program, South Bound Brook police officers interact with and mentor children during various activities, sports, and events.
Goals of the program include:
- To expose children to positive diverse role models who promote the values of integrity, respect, trust, commitment, passion, teamwork, and fun.
- To make children feel comfortable approaching the police if they need help, need someone to talk to, or are involved in an incident.
- To produce independent, confident, and resilient future leaders who aspire to reach their full potential.
- To provide children with positive activities, sports, and events, keeping them off the streets and away from the peer pressures of drugs and alcohol.
